Project overview The project sanctioned by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) under the Tribal Development Fund aims to enhance sustainable livelihoods and socio-economic conditions of tribal communities in Jashpur district, Chhattisgarh. Implemented by Rural Education & Development Society, the initiative focuses on orchard-based farming and livestock development for 300 tribal families ( including particularly vulnerable tribal groups ) across 11

The JIVA Project in Shankargarh-II block of Balrampur, supported by NABARD, promotes natural, chemical-free farming through indigenous seeds, bio-inputs, and integrated farming practices. The initiative helps farmers improve soil fertility, increase income, strengthen food security, and address challenges like climate change, land degradation, and declining productivity while ensuring sustainable agricultural development.

The NABARD-funded FPO "Harit Kranti Adivasi Sahakari Samiti Maryadit" is actively operating under the guidance of the organization READS. An exhibition showcasing the activities and products of the FPO was recently held at the NABARD Regional Office in Raipur on July 18, 2025.

The Jashpur District Administration organized a two-day Agri-Horti Expo and Buyer-Seller Meet on 28–29 June 2025, connecting over 500 farmers and 43 buyer companies. The event showcased tribal produce, promoted market linkages, and highlighted sustainable agricultural practices. With strong participation from FPOs and READS, the expo marked a significant step toward rural empowerment, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development in Chhattisgarh.

On 23 June 2025, the Harit Pratappur Adiwasi Sahkari Samiti FPO was inaugurated by RBI Regional Director Smt. Reeny Ajith and NABARD CGM Dr. Gyanendra Madi. Supported by NABARD and implemented by READS, this initiative marks a new beginning for tribal farmers in Pratappur, fostering self-reliance, unity, and sustainable agricultural growth. The event witnessed active participation from officials, the READS team, and the local farming community.
