Under the JIVA project, executed by the Rural Educational and Development Society (READS), a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) program was organized in the villages of Jamhore and Bhuneshwarpur, located in Shankargarh block. The initiative aimed to involve farmers in visual and collaborative data collection while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
Farmers actively participated in social mapping, seasonal agricultural calendar creation, and identifying local resources critical to their agricultural activities during the program. A key focus of the session was motivating farmers to adopt crop rotation practices and assisting them in planning for future agricultural interventions under the JIVA project.
The event received special support from Mr. Anupam Tiwari, DDM NABARD, as well as Mr. Kalyan Patra and Mrs. Priyanka from the WASSAN team. Their expertise and encouragement provided valuable insights to the participants, fostering enthusiasm for sustainable farming practices in the region.
This collaborative effort demonstrates the commitment of READS and its partners to empower farmers through participatory approaches, ensuring that local communities play an active role in shaping their agricultural futures.
