In the picturesque village of Laranga, nestled amidst the serene landscapes of Bagicha tehsil in Jashpur district, Chhattisgarh, a tale of transformation and prosperity unfolded through the Maina Laranga WDF project, led by the Rural Education And Development Society (READS) with support from NABARD.
Parvez, a hardworking farmer, was among the beneficiaries whose life took a remarkable turn with the implementation of the TDF-WDF project. Before the project's inception, Parvez labored tirelessly in his fields, struggling to make ends meet through traditional farming practices.
With the intervention of READS' project, Parvez received support in the form of de-silting of ponds and FB work, which opened up new avenues for agricultural innovation and diversification. Encouraged by the opportunities presented, Parvez ventured into cultivating vegetables for the first time on his one-acre land.
Embarking on this new agricultural journey, Parvez initially planted ridge gourd (loki), followed by tomato cultivation. The results exceeded his expectations, with a total income of Rs 4,45,500 generated from his successful harvests.

With his increased earnings, he was able to invest in essential agricultural assets, including the purchase of a tractor and additional land for farming. These investments not only enhanced his productivity but also laid the foundation for long-term sustainability and prosperity.
