In the picturesque village of Baada, nestled amidst the verdant landscapes of Shankargarh tehsil in Balrampur district, Chhattisgarh, lived Fulsaay – a man whose story of resilience and determination epitomized the spirit of rural empowerment.
Before the intervention of the TDF-WDF project initiated by the Rural Education And Development Society (READS), Fulsaay eked out a living through daily wage labor, struggling to make ends meet in the harsh realities of rural life.
However, destiny had a different plan for Fulsaay when he became a beneficiary of the Devsara Jamhati WDF project. With the support provided by READS, Fulsaay embarked on a journey of agricultural entrepreneurship, bidding farewell to the uncertainties of daily wage labor.
Armed with an Entrepreneurial Guidance Program (EGP) intervention, Fulsaay cultivated a new vision for his future. Utilizing two acres of land, he ventured into vegetable farming, diversifying his income streams and securing his family's financial stability.
From his bountiful harvests, Fulsaay reaped a multitude of rewards. His rice cultivation yielded an income of Rs 85,000, while his vegetable crops fetched an additional Rs 20,000. Furthermore, his mustard cultivation contributed Rs 28,500 to his burgeoning income – a testament to the transformative power of agricultural entrepreneurship.
Fuelled by his newfound success, Fulsaay took a decisive step towards his aspirations. With unwavering determination, he deposited the proceeds from his endeavors into a bank account, earmarking them for the construction of his dream home – a symbol of his journey from struggle to triumph.
Fulsaay's story resonates as a beacon of hope and inspiration in his community. His relentless pursuit of a better life, coupled with the support of the TDF-WDF project, showcases the transformative impact of grassroots initiatives in empowering rural livelihoods.
