Guthlu Ram eagerly embraced the intervention, seeing it as a beacon of hope for his family's future. With the support of READS and NABARD, he embarked on the journey of WADI plantation. Utilizing one acre of land, he diligently planted saplings and set up irrigation pumps to ensure proper nourishment for his fledgling orchards. Additionally, as part of the intervention, Guthlu Ram received two honeybee boxes and seeds of ginger/turmeric for diversification.
As time passed, Guthlu Ram witnessed the transformation of his once barren land into a thriving orchard. The intercrop cultivation of chili on 70 decimal land proved to be a game-changer as he reaped the benefits of his labor, earning a commendable income of Rs. 65,000 for the first time. Encouraged by this success, he ventured into ginger cultivation, which yielded a promising income of Rs. 41,250. While the sale of turmeric is pending, Guthlu Ram remains optimistic about its potential earnings.
The impact of the project extended beyond just financial gains for Guthlu Ram. The newfound income brought about significant improvements in his household, enabling him to make necessary repairs and enhancements. Moreover, with the surplus funds, Guthlu Ram invested in high-quality seeds and fertilizers for planting peas as the next crop, further enhancing his agricultural practices.
